KIP Color 80 Goes to Market

KIP now shipping the Color 80, featuring high speed, wide format color using toner, not inkjet:
- uses LED technology
- Top speed of 4 “D” size posters per minute
- Unlike wide format inkjet printers, the print speed does not slow down if the poster has heavy ink coverage
- 600x600 dpi
- 4 drawers to hold paper rolls
- Extended length printing to 19.7 feet
- Manual sheet bypass for 22”x17” up to 36”x48”

Notes from Art: $2,000 per month to lease this system for 60 months. At 4 pages per minute, I'm not sure where the market is. No thick stock capability, no color matching (EFI, Splash, etc). Will the system slow down for heavy graphics? What's the cost per foot? Need a lot more information is I was going to get on eof these.
